This Day Care Center marks the first phase of an ambitious community development initiative in Stratton, designed to serve both the town and its surrounding areas. The subsequent phase will introduce a Recreation Center and Sporting Facility, enhancing community engagement and activity.

Collaborating closely with city representatives, CSU students developed preliminary design presentations to generate interest in the project. Sun Mountain Design Group expertly merged these proposals with the practicalities of metal building construction, resulting in a cohesive design. A key architectural focus was to maximize natural daylight, achieved by incorporating lean-to style framing and strategically placed clerestory windows that allow light to penetrate from opposite sides of each room.

This design not only enhances the interior environment but also fosters a sense of openness and connection to the outdoors.
