The Future Farmers of America (FFA) is an intra-curricular student organization catering to individuals interested in agriculture and leadership. Recognizing the need for a specialized facility, the Genoa-Hugo School District, nestled in rural eastern Colorado, sought to provide its FFA students with a dedicated space for hands-on experience in machinery maintenance and other light industrial activities integral to their agricultural training. To meet both design specifications and budget constraints, Sun Mountain Design Group strategically employed a 3,600 square foot pre-engineered steel building adjacent to the existing school, capitalizing on existing utility connections. This structure was meticulously designed to align with the newly adopted International Energy Conservation Code, prioritizing features such as enhanced daylighting and optimal energy efficiency.
