The historic Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Freight Office (Depot) is one of the two existing buildings on the site slated for restoration. In a bid to enhance its functionality for La Puerta’s hospitality focus, the depot will undergo an expansion. An additional 2,600 square feet will be added to the existing 2,153 square feet to transform it into a space suitable for a restaurant and/or bar. An attached covered terrace will offer outdoor dining and serve as a venue for local performances. The addition has been meticulously designed to seamlessly integrate with the original structure, serving as a fitting replacement for the unsalvageable wooden shed that was part of the original structure. This project is part of the La Puerta de Colorado Master Plan by Sun Mountain Design Group.
