La Puerta de Colorado is a 15.4 acre reclamation project on a brownfield site in Trinidad, CO. The site is bordered on two sides by the Purgatoire river and Commercial Street, one of the primary entries to the City from Interstate 25. A new city road will be built to serve the mixed-use development containing a community park, hotel, restaurant/bar, and multiple buildings for leased tenant spaces. Two of these buildings are redeveloped historic structures. Additionally, habitat restoration and preservation are an integral part of our development plans along the Purgatoire River. This will enable travelers to have easy access to fly fishing, kayaking, tubing and other river recreation. Coordination was required between many governmental and private agencies for design approval and funding grants.
