Excel Energy of Colorado spearheaded the development of a wind farm comprising over 400 turbines on the eastern plains of Colorado. Two Operations and Maintenance (O&M) buildings were required to facilitate the requirements of office space and vehicle maintenance. Sun Mountain Design provided design and comprehensive construction drawings for these buildings. The structures are pre-engineered steel buildings, blending durability with functionality. Attention was given to the interior design and finishing, ensuring optimal utilization of space and comfort in the office areas. Due to the importance of technological operations, both buildings incorporate SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) rooms, safeguarding critical data and operations. Additionally, the inclusion of tornado shelters provides a secure refuge during severe weather events.
