Pete Lien and Son’s concrete plant in Colorado Springs recognized the limitations of their existing small and antiquated office space, situated within one end of a vehicle maintenance building. The company embarked on an expansion and modernization project to add 3,760 square feet of new space to the facility. This addition accommodates 13 private offices, a Reception Room, a Conference Room, as well as essential amenities such as a staff Break Room and restrooms. One of the key challenges addressed during the project design was the integration of the new building with the existing industrial structure. This necessitated the installation of both an existing and new wall, each designed as separate firewalls with fire-rated openings accommodating staff movement between the spaces while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. By prioritizing functionality and safety, the project has provided a modern and efficient workspace for the company’s employees.
